The Russian Review
Department or Program
Costlow chronicles the discussion of deforestation in several Russian journals, and examines the representation of the loss of forest land in a number of significant works of literature and visual art. She considers how the empirical knowledge articulated in publicistics may have found its way into artist representations of the forest.
