The essays in this collection were created by students in EUS/ENVR/HIST 322: Mountains and Modernity. The authors draw on their various backgrounds to investigate aspects of European societies from the late 19th to the mid 20th century in relation to the two most important mountain chains of central Europe: the Alps and the Carpathians.
