In 2007, Bates College student Mariah Pfeiffer wrote Visions and the Valley: A Reconstructed History of the Androscoggin River and its Industrial Communities, a senior Honors Thesis on the social and political effects of economic change in the Androscoggin River Valley. Pfeiffer conducted over a dozen oral histories in the summer of 2006 for her thesis. She conducted the oral histories in Berlin, New Hampshire; Lewiston, Maine; Rumford, Maine and surrounding towns along the River. She donated 14 of her oral histories to the Muskie Archives in the summer of 2007; these interviews form the Androscoggin River Oral History Collection. (Note: all biographical information in each interview pertains to when it was written, from 2006 and 2007.)
