Bates College Journal of Political Studies
Aims & Scope
The mission of the Journal is to provide a forum for undergraduate students to publish their original scholarship. It is meant to be a forum for mature, rigorous, and meaningful discussion of the political forces shaping our world. The scope of the Journal is “political studies” — a field including, but not limited to, political theory, public policy, political history, quantitative analysis, and international relations. In general, published articles should focus on the analysis and discussion of “activities that relate to influencing the actions and policies of a government or getting and keeping power in a government,” per the Encyclopedia Britannica definition of politics.
