Abstract
John W. White was born in Auburn, Maine and grew up on Whiteholm Farm. His parents were Marion J. (Wellman) and Harold Sewall White. His father was a farmer and Bowdoin graduate. His mother attended Bates for one year, and John graduated from Bates College in 1939. He majored in Economics and was on the swim team. He was a farmer until 1977, and then bcame involved in real estate. At the time of this interview he was president of the Androscoggin Historical Society.
