Development and Use of Open Educational Resources in Higher Education: a regional symposium

Follow

A one-day symposium, focusing on the creation and use of open educational resources (OER) in higher education. We discussed ways professionals can begin to engage with and participate in OER creation and adoption. Open education seeks to create a more accessible and equitable classroom. The ultimate goal of the day was to raise awareness and seed a conversation about how to address the issue of textbook affordability for students. We hope to share information of OER use at the institutional and regional level. Funding for this workshop was provided by a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis’s retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc.
