Abstract
This project involves using walking as both a theoretical and practical tool for the public (especially city dwellers) to reshape our built environment. The overarching goal is to give the public a free and accessible way to explore cities in order to promote a more informed, cohesive, and sustainable urban citizenry. I want to use the genre of a podcast in order to appeal to a wide public audience. The content of this project will synthesize theories and histories of walking and urban development with a personal investigation of urban walking (specifically in Lewiston, ME) that includes stories and interviews.
