Abstract
Social entrepreneurs share many similar qualities to all entrepreneurs – they are innovative, resourceful, and relentless. Similarly to an entrepreneur, social entrepreneurs challenge what we think is possible. Social entrepreneurs are motivated by an intense desire to create and sustain social value and feel a large sense of accountability to those they serve. All entrepreneurs derive their power from their ability to address and disrupt inefficiency or injustice in the current system and to create a new system equilibrium. For my paper I will explore how social entrepreneurship is uniquely positioned to address environmental issues specifically.
