Media, the Mind, and You

Episodes of Media, the Mind, and You are 10-15 minute podcasts that explore the neuroscience and psychology behind the impacts that different kinds of content have on us. This collection was produced with the audience at the Lewiston Public Library in mind, and is intended to speak to a broad audience of people with general interests. Bates College students from multiple disciplines bring their perspectives to the table and discuss topics including the way music reaches our emotions, the influence of advertisements on our ideas, and the impact of screen time on child development. Podcasts were written, recorded, and produced by students completing their final exam for NRSC 225: The Neuroscience of Video (instructor: Professor Olivia Kim) and are free to use under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
